UT in March

This is my crazy red head waking up from a long winters nap with her crazy red-rooster hair and watching it snow (I think this is the first time she has seen the snow coming down, at least conciously.) She was mesmerized by it! She has been recently doing these hillarious faces, where she is very expressive with her eyes, eyebrows, and lips- like she is talking- but usually nothing comes out, but it looks like she has a real story to tell! She did so many fun things in UT- she started taking steps if you hold her hands. She learned how to wave hi and bye- while we were walking to the airplane to leave she waved bye to everyone in UT. She started covering her eyes and playing peek-a-boo, and she loved playing patty-cake with grandma. When I asked her if she like her oatmeal, Grandma and I swear she said "oatmeal" back. And Grandpa was sure trying to get her to say "grandpa", and I think she got it out a few times, but the "pa" was a lot more noticable. She had fun playing with her cousins, aunts, grandma and grandpa, and of course great grandma and grandpa! She was afraid of great-grandpas little man gnome, it was a great way for her to stay away from things we didn't want her in. I think we need to get some gnomes for our house!

You can see teeth now!

She is finally showing her little teeth! She is fascinated by teeth. She likes to touch hers and mommys, and we talk a lot about teeth. She sounds like she is from the house of Slitherin because she loves the S and T sounds. (but we all know she is in Gryffindor)
She is into the March Madness with her daddy! She loves to play with balls and crawl after them all over the room. She will push it across the room, go get it, and do it again. She is crawling VERY fast now and getting very good at pulling herself up. Sometimes she will stand on her own for a split second before falling down, and she will occasionally take a few steps when supported.
She is eating very well now, but it is still quite an adventure. She still loves to feed herself, so it gets quite messy. The other day she started licking her bib and has done it a few times since. She frequently signs "eat" which is her own made up sign of chewing rather than the ASL one we tried to teach her- but we do show her how to chew so much I guess she picked that up instead. She occasionally signs milk and nods yes when you ask questions. It might be random, but hopefully we are onto something...
We start swimming lessons on Saturday, her 9 month birthday!

8 months

Annabelle discovered how to crawl over the the DVD collection and pull them all off the shelf. This was cute for like a week, and then we moved them. She started pulling herself up to standing- she is getting really good at it! She will use anything- the couch, ottoman, TV stand, adults, other kids... but for some reason when you get a bunch of kids who pull themselves up from each other you just get a big pile of kids. She has been saying "dada dada" for awhile, but just recently we think she is associating them to who "dada" actually is. She will not be talking and when he walks in she will start saying "dada" and get really excited. She is such a daddy's little girl! (It says that on her cute little strawberry dress, but you can't really read it.) The butterfly pic is at the wild animal park, I just thought it was too cute with her and her buddy.

Gated in

She likes to push the limits and hang out at the gates. Uh-Oh, I can see where this is headed in the long road of parenting!

Cute baby!

I forgot to add these adorable pictures! One is of her crawling/scooting backwards so much she can't control where she is going- that is why she is mostly under the couch. Then she will hide toys under there and pull them out at random times. Usually she gets stuck under there and cries, but this time she was so happy in her cozy little hide away =)
The next one is of her sucking her toes instead of her thumb. She loves those feet!

teeth and crawling! watch out!

Next week she will be 8 months- but this week has been a big milestone week for her!

On Wednesday 1/27 she finally got her first tooth. That blasted thing was a hassle! (now how many more to go? sigh!) It is one on the bottom.

Then on Friday 1/29 we ordered pizza and she crawled right to it! Which is odd, since up until now she would scoot, roll, crawl backwards, and occasionally crawl 1 or 2 strides forward. Bring pizza into the mix and that girl was full on CRAWLING! She hasn't stopped since. Here we go on a new adventure!

Christmas 2009

We had so much fun visiting family...but it was sure cold! Our crazy baby liked unwrapping presents- she LOVED the wrapping paper, and every time you took it away she would cry- until you gave her more. She would pull it a little, and we would pull the present a little, but she was getting the concept of unwrapping. She was very busy moving and jumping- she loves to kick and bounce. She also started sucking in her lips around her teethless gums. It was so funny we would laugh so hard every time she did it! I didn't get great pics of it, but it was like ROTF funny. (This one does not give it justice) She is so much fun!
